Dear friends and supporters,
Today is a really exciting day. I’ve been waiting for a long time to let you know that I’ve got a new book coming out on August 13th. Light of the Mind, Light of the World: How New Science is Illuminating Ancient Truths About God is available now for pre-order.
This book is an argument, building on much of what I’ve written here and discussed on Young Heretics, that our humanity is neither an accident nor a mistake: it is at the center of reality. Our latest science and our most ancient scriptures alike are revealing desperately urgent truths about our role in the universe. Will we listen?
This book is a labor of love—a story about God revealing himself in the world. It’s an ancient story, but also an urgent one for our times, in which a heartless philosophy is teaching us to reject our humanity. It’s is an ancient temptation, an age-old effort to unite the world under one banner and build new gods out of metal and stone. But there is another, better path—I wrote this book to help light the way.
I very much hope you’ll pre-order the book; I would love for you guys to be among the first to get a copy. You can do so on Amazon or at Simon & Schuster’s website. I’ll be sharing more information on the Substack as the months unfold, maybe even dropping some excerpts, so watch this space. Comments are open to everyone on this post, so feel free to let me know your thoughts!
Rejoice evermore,
Spencer
I feel like suddenly the world is changing. Like we have been starkly confronted with the potential fruits of ultimate good and evil. (I admit to despairing.) And yet, like the sliver of light that shows along the horizon with the rising sun, there suddenly appears to be a perceptible shift toward the good. You and your dad have been such a lifeline to the brilliant light of the good, and in such a coherent and intellectually inspiring way. You and your dad’s interviews on Daily Wire, your podcast, this Substack, The New Jerusalem, and now your new book! Thank you!
SOOOOO cool!!!! I will definitely preorder! Any idea if it'll be up on NetGalley for advance reviews? (I have a book-review blog and would love to include it!)
